TORONTO – Second World War pilot Philip Gray says it is “immoral” that Downsview Park is evicting the Canadian Air and Space Museum.
“This is a terrible way to repay young 21-year-old boys who went to war and never turned 22. I am disgusted that their heritage can be just wiped out,” the 89-year-old Gray said Tuesday as the museum was packing up artifacts.
My father was a pilot during World War 11, at RCAF Rockcliffe and a base in England. I am disgusted by the actions of the Canada Lands Company and its subsidiary, Parc Downsview Park, evicting the Air and Space Museum in Toronto. The Canada Lands Company sells/privatizes the real estate assets of federal Crown corporations and agencies. Canadians have lost CNR property, war museums, veterans hospitals, DND bases…
